In the book “Sell Your Way To Freedom”, I deeply explained 10 reasons why customers do not buy your product or services. Remember Napoleon Hill’s definition of selling, which is the art of planting in the mind of another person a motive which will induce a favourable action. There is no sale if the person who is supposed to buy has not been induced or persuaded to desire to perform the specific action that you require from them, whether to give you money in exchange for what you are selling, or to follow you to a party, or to be your girlfriend or boyfriend, or to join your band or choir or party.
While preparing for this book, I met a seasoned entrepreneur, Mr Nicholas Nweke, who is the founder of Easylink Global Services to discuss some of the factors that people need in order to build trust with their prospects for a stable business. He itemized four major factors that have been indirectly mentioned and will still be explained in this book as follows:
1. Build your brand right: once you get this right, people will refer other people to you. Trust is easy to build with referrals. It is an easy way to sell.
2. Effective communication: tell the thing as it is. Do not sugar-coat your products. If it can do A, B, C, and would not do D, just let the prospect know.
3. Always try to reach out to already acquired customers.
4. Be a master of your craft. Try to know as much as possible about what you sell. It will help you to handle objections.
So, if you are trying to sell and people are not buying, you must try to understand where the problem is coming from. Whether the problem is from you, or from them, or from the product, service, idea or proposal that you want to sell to them. Below are 10 major reasons why people may not be buying from you or why people may even stop buying from you.
