One of the biggest obstacles that continuously holds people from attaining enduringhappiness in the modern world is the financial constraint that steadily chokes and deniesthem the chance and capacity to materialize their great ideas or to effect the changes they want in their families, communities, nations and the world at large. Many of the people who have great intentions or ideas for their families, societies and the world are often frustrated or distracted as they keep running in circles and burning out themselves in various institutions, corporate organizations and industrial networks. Many of the times, these corporate institutions and networks tightly engage and ruthlessly drain people of the vibrant energies of their most productive years without enabling them to obtain the chance or resources to pursue the passions of creating the life or impact they want in their families, communities and the world before they die. Instead, the institutions and networks pay them just enough to enable them afford food, shelter, gadgets, titles and other forms of shallow and individualentertainment. Just like carpenters without their carpentry equipment or doctors without their medical tools, many people lack the time and resources to support their families, communities or nations to build and sustain their systems of growth without being afraid of their employers’ intentions and reactions.
This system of desperately working all their lives mainly for some slightly better variety of food, shelter, toys, titles and other shallow entertainment is the industrial bondage that people call the rat-race. And since many people lack the knowledge or courage to pursue other sources of income that can grant them the freedom to pursue and actualize their talents and passions for their families, communities, nations and the world, they remain stuck in those draining, overworked and underpaid institutions, organizations and industrial networks until they become old, weak and incapable of working to actualize their dreams.
One of the many alternatives to this rat-raceorder of working in externally regimented schedules just for food, shelter, toys and titles is understanding and mastering the art ofselling or flipping different types of property, especially cars.
The end of the cold war around 1989 and 1991 increased the demand of wealth-creationfor the golden age of capitalism. Along with this golden age of capitalism came anincreased desire for people to express theirindividual liberty. And one of the ways through which people can express their individual liberty is by owning private cars. The significance of this private car-ownership is that by possessing a private car, an individual has the capacity, liberty andmobility to move around with ease and at his own leisure or pace. Hence, car-ownership became one of the main status symbols for the people both in the Western society and otherparts of the world. And companies were more than eager to source materials and labour to produce newer cars for people to buy.
However, after this initial rush to own their private cars, some people become unable to maintain their private cars. Hence, due totheir reckless driving, accidents or lack of proper maintenance, some people easily abandon their cars for newer ones, even on excess credit. These abandoned cars and other vehicles eventually become scraps that are left to rot away.
Fortunately, these vehicles that seem to be abandoned can also be refurbished or pimped to radiate a new type of beauty, decency and utility, so that its former owners or new owners can still enjoy the vehicle without falling into bigger debts in the quest to acquire expensive brand new cars. This process of refurbishing, renovating or pimping used vehicles or other instruments for a new user is called flipping.
It is, thus, necessary to say that flipping is the process of identifying, polishing and radiating the life, beauty and efficiency in used property, whether it is a house, a car, a lawnmower or any other property. It is an art of resurrecting a comatose property for a new life; a special art of buying dirty to sell neat, or adding value to a used property so that they become useful and valuable.
Venturing into car-flipping became a liberating and lucrative way to express my admiration for the wonder, beauty, significance and liberating effects of automobiles, especially vintage cars. This venture enabled me to sharpen not only my capacity to understand cars, but also my ability to scout, acquire and sell different types of property. Of course, I was born in Ifite-Ogwari, which is very close to the commercial city of Onitsha, in Nigeria. I moved to Onitsha at the age of 13 to finish high school, where I engaged in buying and selling goods. It was there in Onitsha that I developed the desire for business, since the main source of living in Onitsha has been buying and selling various property, with special focus of building and retaining your client base. When I later moved to Australia in 2012, I began with and lived through the 9-5 job cycle. First, I worked as a nurse with the Baptist Care in Newcastle, New South Wales before moving to work with Maiwel Group Maitland, New South Wales as a community worker. I do understand the stress of finishing a shift tired and rushing to another one. I understand the rat-race of having to struggle to pay my bills. But after few years, I decided to change my career and be my own boss. Hence, I started training on the digital marketing with the Open University. Then I had a discussion with the owners to train for buying and selling cars at the ABCM Spare Parts Kooragang New South Wales. This single decision to learn how to buy and sell bought my freedom till date. I have been flipping and renting cars for 10 years, and so, wish to share the benefits of these years of experience, along with those of other successful business people, to those who are thinking about launching into the business world and to those who are already in their business, but need some help in upgrading their businesses.
This book aims to respond to the lack of knowledge in the art of selling in order to enable the reader to build wealth by steadily building and selling their values, their crafts, skills and products to the world. It begins with emphasizing the necessity and purpose of freedom in the human search for true happiness, which comes by identifying a problem in the marketplace, developing the solution to the problem and effectively marketing this solution to the world. And to distinguish between different types of happiness, it shows different types of freedom and how they lead people to either true happiness (and fulfilment) or to animal happiness (and emptiness). Finally, it aims to show the art of flipping cars as one of the major ways through which individuals can attain the necessary freedom for them to manifest their passions to the world, and thus attain true happiness in the modern world. A loving father can confidently recommend this book to his only son whom he wishes to train in the art of buying and selling. If an 18 year old girl picks up this book without prior experience in buying and selling, she is most likely to be very successful by following the steps outlined in this book.
The complete book would be out soon!
